Rains stop in Junagadh after 72 hrs.
After 72 hours of downpour, the district breathed easy as rains finally halted on Friday.Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi took an aerial view of the flood-hit areas of the district vise Mangrol, Keshod and Veraval talukas, in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, two persons lost their lives during the rains on Thursday in separate incidents. According to officials, due to the rains, a huge tree was uprooted and crushed one Chhaganbhai Koli (55) to death.
The incident occurred at Badalpur village near Bilkha town, some 15 kilometres from Junagadh.
In another incident that occurred on the outskirts of Loiyej village in Mangrol taluka, 26-year-old Hardas Pithiya was electrocuted when he accidentally came in contact with a live electric wire in his farmland, said sources.
According to official sources, various teams have been dispatched to the flood hit areas to carry out a damage survey. In Ghed, soil erosion has been spotted in farmlands in an area of over 50 square kilometers, sources added.
