Rain revives Saurashtra farmers' hope.
Moderate rainfall in parts of Saurashtra, particularly in Surendranagar, Rajkot and Amreli districts, on Thursday night has revived the hope of farmers in the region.
They will be able to save their crops if rains continue.
In the past 24 hours until Friday, Surendranagar district has received 55 mm rainfall, Rajkot district 17 mm, Junagadh district 11 mm, Jamnagar district 13 mm and Bhavnagar district 8 mm, flood control room sources said.
However, they said there has been no significant inflow of rain water in most of the dams in the region which were full only up to 10 per cent of their total capacity.
